Pedro Villagra was a pioneer in the inclusion of saxophone in Latin American fusion music. He integrated well-known bands such as the Grupo Huara, Santiago del Nuevo Extremo and Inti-Illimani.
Pedro has worked on more than 30 albums during 4 decades of experience, being a icon for a whole generation of musicians from the world of jazz and traditional South American music.
His formal studies of traverse flute with Alberto Harms at the Catholic University of Chile, saxophone with the master Kiko Aldana and his development in the world of jazz at the Hochschule f’r Musik und Tanz Koln in Germany, allow him to have a panoramic view of the musical spectrum that he is currently developing in his solo project “La Pedroband”
